Continuing development on the screen printed image, the collage concept was explored, the black and white image of the victims house is a strong visual element but its vague meaning make it questionable and unique. Cutting the house out of the original image and attempting to place it onto the screen print image, the images combined well and complimented each other in a way that the house image adds depth to the screen print and the screen prints texture gives a boldness to the house. These styles convey the genre which the book is, the dark rough imagery give a subtle dark horror style aesthetic while still remaining subtle and simple, this is the style which was the aim for the project. The left image experiments with type attempting three different typefaces which have been used through the development, Helvetica bold, Baskerville and Caslon.
Seeking feedback from my peers it became apparent that the type should not be placed over the image so that it can be read and achieve full legibility, it also became clear that the more positive feedback was given to the screen print which went wrong (Above Left) this rough aesthetic really fell into the concept and the white space that has been made through the print now fully printing can be used to place type without disturbing the visual element of the cover, further more the the peer feedback informed me that the type which was most aesthetically relevant and fitting would be to use Baskerville, its old gothic style would visually aid the covers impact.
