OUGD603 - Client/Collab - Red Brick Roads - Design and development Ideas and Layouts.

Following from the research and understanding the clients wants and needs (through collab and discussion) I began to experiment digitally with the images and type chosen through consultation with the musician. I began to experiment with how the album features (image/type) could be laid out on the album cover.


CONSIDER - I have been sent a list of requirements that the artwork must meet as to be able to upload them to online digital streaming sites such as Spotify, Itunes and Sound cloud. The image must be designed to 1600x1600px (AT THE LEAST)

MUST BE - JPG/PNG

Atleast 1600x1600px (Recomended 3000x3000px)

No spelling typos or mistakes and no links or contact info added

These considerations are a good guide to keep to though while experimenting I shall use a standard square size and the finals shall be made up to meet these requirements. 

Design Ideas Initial 

I began by exploring different aspects which have been seen through the research, 

• Exploring the range of typefaces (Sporting Grotesk/Helvetica/Univers) 
• Exploring image layout and where best placed the image could be

I found that the strongest type was the Univers, its simplistic type form does not take away from the cover image and fits well. I have also experimented with Sporting for its fun style of lower case letters. The image seems to work best through being centre aligned, with a white boarder. Though I feel the design could be better extended, the incorporation of black instead of white can be played with as well as experimenting with the red colours and gradients that have been discussed in previous blogs.
