The publication will be split into two parts, one half being the life and times of the artist Olga Rozanova, the second half focussing on her work. Through researching in depth the art of her and her peers I found that her colour theory and worked with shape would influence the projects visual appearance.
Considering how her style, colours and aesthetic would combine with typography and bodies of text. This lead to experimenting with laying text over her work, though this was not practical and would not showcase and celebrate the work.
Considering Rozanovas geometric supprematist collage compositions, I produced some simple forms out of triangles and squares, hoping these would work well with type, through peer feedback this idea was relevant and bold, giving the publication personality and showcasing the research that has been undertaken.
Following this a whole book of collages based on the colour theory and forms Rozanova applied within her suprematist work which she is most known for. These collages in the suprematist style form the layout of each page as individual pieces.
The materials used are inspired by the mixed medias Rozanova worked with on her own collages, using materials like fabric, paper, plastics and more to really encapsulate Rozanovas style.
