design skills one final product

For the production of the first publication I had initially planned to produce it on thick paper with a stitch binding, with my publication being based on book covers I wanted it to resemble a paper back book, yet with the amount of content I had It would have been very thin for it to be produced on to a thick size stock, so changed my mind to wanting to use a thinner matte stock from the print room.

One of the problems I faced was the busy nature of the print room, having judged my time poorly I missed the opportunity to sign up for a slot in the digital print room as it became fully booked, I had to rely on the drop in sessions which I found many other people were also reliant on. Having queued for an hour during a drop in slot, I managed to get the opportunity, yet was told I had only time to print one of my two publications (Having finished the second design principles publication) I chose to print out the second publication, and then try again another day to print my first publication off. Unfortunately I was unlucky, and had to print my publication off using the regular printers, risking the products quality, though the content and images fully meet the briefs requirements, the final product has let the work down, this is something I have identified as a problem and one which I now know how too tackle in future projects for print jobs as well as how I bind the final product, having to staple the product instead of properly stick bind it, is another flaw in my work.

I had to make compromises in the production of my publication due to my bad time management, something which I need to take further consideration with in future, I misjudged the time I had and this cost me in a sense that my publication is poorly produced, yet still has good visuals and is legible although it is not printed or bound in a very good manner.
