Ethical Design - Idea Generation

Continuing to experiment on paper to test a range of ideas, styles and content to continue onto digital design. Looking at images from news papers to create propaganda style posters which put across the tones and messages of the researched organisations. Again continuing to use Veteran For Peace website to create the content for the poster. Using slogans and facts which taken from VFP's manifesto such as;
- 'The UK is second only to the USA in terms of lethal drone strikes'
- 'The UK is one of only nine countries who are nuclear weapon armed.'
Etc.

Looking at ways to layout and even slightly playing on colour using blue to represent the conservatives colours. These mock ups attempt to use other details which became apparent through research, such as 'The Black Rain of Fallout' idea which has the quote 'The UK is one of only nine countries who are nuclear weapon armed.' this is next to an image of Theresa May and David Cameron both of who are for Trident (Uk nuclear arms programme) this is an image of them under an umbrella being rained on with black rain, an aftermath of nuclear warfare (Hiroshima - FACT) using these minor factual details are clever but may be too subtle and obscure to be used as a concept.

'The price of peace' Idea is inspired by the Conservatives £205billion pound trident renewal plan, spending so much money on a nuclear arms programme which is dangerous, not only for humanity but it will have effects on the country in underfunding of more neccesities, though issues arose from this design that as a designer it is not my choice where government spending should be focussed on.

The different use of images and content were hit and miss, through feedback it became apparent that there was strong visuals and facts but it wasnt getting anything done, the poster had to have an end goal in a way that it needed to inspire action, but action to do what? (The feedback and further reflection can be found on the blog).
