Visually researching into more movie posters, this time cinematic release posters, this was to get an understanding of style and aesthetic that can be used to promote MUBI. Taking in how the type is set next to the imagery and how genres can be clearly seen through visual representation, for example it is clear to see the old movies and the new films, showing an evolution in styles since cinemas early origins to todays world where cinema is accessible at any point from all around the world. The styles above are from all different decades from history of cinema, exploring a wide range like this helps to realise the visuals of the cinema which is available on MUBI. Looking at playful and serious designs such as the differences between 'Waynes World' and 'Reservoir Dogs' one being a crime film and the other a teen comedy, both styles use bold red type yet the imagery used alongside suggests each movies genre, with 'Wayne's world' using playful imagery and the characters images whilst 'Reservoir Dogs' uses black silhouettes of the characters on a rough textured background.
The tone of the company, MUBI, needs to be put across through the design choices, for the posters I want the feel of straight forward cinema but with a playful edge, looking at how the combination of Movie imagery and quotes can work with MUBI's given taglines.
