OUGD603 - Brief Five - Research

Dada art - especially that of many Dadaists - has a focus on photomontage/collage methods of communication. The Dadas wanted to create obscurity and confuse people, usually with deeper meanings which the Dadaists used to ‘Laugh at the bourgeoisie’.

As can be seen there work was mixed media and reappropriated everything and anything, the Dadaists strived for creative freedom, this was the basis for the design, creative freedom with personal specific elements.

Dada artists such as Raoul Haussmann, Hanna Hoch and Johannes Baader focused on human figures mixed with book/newspaper clippings.

The exploration of form through reappropriation shall influence the design of the visuals for the outcome.
